At least 8 people were injured in a series of attacks and clashes between two groups of college Chhatra League and Chhatra Dal workers due to the struggle for supremacy in the freshman reception ceremony of Government Janata College in Dumki, Patuakhali. Yesterday Sunday around 10:30 AM, two groups attacked and clashed around the freshman reception ceremony at the Government Janata College. According to eyewitness student sources, college student leaders and workers were shouting slogans to welcome the new students of class 11 in the current session. At that time, the leaders and activists of the Chhatra League started shouting counter slogans and the clash between the two groups turned into a clash. When the leaders and workers of different units of both organizations came to the news, chase, counter-chase and scattered attacks clashed between the two groups. The incident of vandalism and vandalism took place at the business establishment of the convener of the Farmers’ Party. In this, at least 8 leaders and workers were injured, including Khair, Abu Sufian Sudha and convenors of the Chhatra League Golam Sarwar, Jahangir Hossain. On receiving the information, the police came and brought the situation under control. At that time, the police arrested Shahadat Hossain, the joint convener of the Upazila Chhatra Dal, as he was involved in violence. Chhatra League and Chhatra Dal are blaming each other for the violence. Officer-in-charge of Dumki police station Abdul Hannan confirmed the truth of the incident and said that a written complaint has been filed by the BCL. The case is pending.
