Bangladesh Border Guard BGB provided free medical services and necessary medicines to 700 helpless and disadvantaged people in the remote char areas along the border of Chapainawabganj, along with medical services for 200 cattle.
Today, Tuesday (July 21), at 9 am, a medical campaign was organized at the Mahmuda Matiullah High School grounds in Narayanpur Union of Sadar Upazila at the initiative of 53 BGB, Chapainawabganj Battalion and with its own funds.
53 BGB said in a press release that in addition to protecting the country’s borders, the BGB is always by the side of the border people through public welfare activities. This medical campaign is a shining example of that. About 700 helpless and disadvantaged people were provided free medical services and necessary medicines were distributed through the said medical campaign. In addition, medical services were provided to 200 cattle. He said that this humanitarian initiative has received a huge response from the border people and will further strengthen their trust and faith in the BGB.
A team of 8 doctors including the Medical Officer of BGB Rajshahi Sector, 2 women and children specialists from Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital, 1 ophthalmologist from Chapainawabganj Eye Hospital, 2 civilian doctors assigned to 53 BGB and Mahananda Battalion 59 BGB, and 1 veterinary doctor from Chapainawabganj Animal Hospital were present in the campaign. The Commander of Chapainawabganj Battalion 53 BGB, Lieutenant Colonel Kazi Mustafizur Rahman, PSC, Deputy Commander of 53 BGB, other BGB members, local dignitaries and journalists from various media outlets were present in the said campaign.
