Under the theme “Science and Technology in Building an Innovation-Based Bangladesh” – the inauguration and award distribution ceremony of the 47th National Science and Technology Week and Science Fair 2026, 10th National Science Olympiad and 10th Science Quiz Competition was held in Kaptai Upazila of Rangamati at the initiative of the Kaptai Upazila Administration. On Saturday (April 11) at 10 am, the Science Olympiad and Science Quiz Competition were first held at the conference room ‘Kinnari’ of Kaptai Upazila Parishad. A total of 60 students from 10 secondary schools and 2 higher secondary educational institutions of the upazila participated in it. Later, at 11:30 am, Executive Officer Ruhul Amin inaugurated the 47th National Science and Technology Week Fair as the chief guest at the Upazila Parishad auditorium. At this time, he said in his speech that the country that is ahead in information technology in the current world is also ahead in economic and knowledge-based power. If we can survive with dignity in the world assembly If we want, then the students of the future must be made skilled in information technology, innovation and scientific mind. Science education should not be limited to the pages of books – new innovations must be created through its practical application. The program was chaired by Syed Mahmud Hasan, Upazila Secondary Education Officer. Other speakers at the program were: Enamul Haque Hazari (Upazila Livestock Officer), Nazmul Hasan (Social Service Officer), Monirul Islam Chowdhury (Upazila Engineer), Abdullah Al Baker (Upazila BRDB Officer), Delwar Hossain (Assistant Information Officer) and Social Chakma (Academic Supervisor). Later, the guests visited 12 stalls of various educational institutions set up in the auditorium. The students impressed the visitors by presenting their innovative projects, technology-based models and scientific concepts. On the same day, at 2 pm, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in various categories were awarded based on the importance and significance of the stalls participating in the closing and award distribution ceremony. Crests were awarded. Certificates were also given to all participating students.
