22nd ICAB Convocation 2026 Held in Dhaka

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) successfully held its 22nd Convocation on Saturday at the Inter Continental, Dhaka, celebrating the achievements of newly qualified Chartered Accountants. Mr. Zahir Uddin Swapon, MP, Honorable Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Government
of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, attended the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, he congratulated the CAs for attaining one of the most rigorous professional qualifications and emphasized the vital role Chartered Accountants play in ensuring financial transparency, strengthening governance, and driving sustainable economic growth.

Highlighting the evolving global landscape, the Chief Guest noted that the profession is undergoing rapid transformation due to technological advancements such as artificial intelligence and data analytics. He encouraged the new CAs to embrace innovation, adapt to change, and position themselves as strategic leaders and trusted advisors in both public and private sectors.

He also underscored the importance of integrity, stating that trust remains the cornerstone of the accountancy profession.Dr. Md Sajjad Hossain Bhuiyan, Chairman, Financial Reporting Council (FRC), was present as Special Guest. Dr. Salimullah Khan, Professor at North South University, delivered the Convocation Speech. In his address, he described Chartered Accountants as key intellectual contributors to economic and social systems, emphasizing their broader role beyond technical functions.

ICAB President Mr. NKA Mobin FCA, in his foreword, extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly qualified members who completed their examinations between November–December 2022
and November–December 2025. He highlighted ICAB’s longstanding commitment to upholding global standards in professional education and serving the public interest since its establishment in 1973.
The President also reminded the CAs of their responsibility to uphold the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and professionalism, urging them to contribute meaningfully to national development. He encouraged them to pursue lifelong learning, embrace leadership roles, and remain resilient in an ever-changing professional environment.

The Convocation marked a significant milestone for the CAs and their families, recognizing years of dedication, discipline, and perseverance. The ceremony concluded with a call for the new Chartered Accountants to serve the nation with commitment, contribute to economic progress and uphold the values of the profession.
