1 more child has died in the isolation ward of Mymensingh Medical College (MMC) Hospital with measles symptoms. This brings the total number of deaths there to 17. In addition, 28 more children have been admitted in the last 24 hours. A total of 84 children are under treatment there.
On Sunday (April 26) morning, Associate Professor Dr. Mohammad Golam Mawla, focal person of the measles medical team at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, confirmed this information and said that on April 21, a 3-and-a-half-year-old girl was admitted to the hospital from Trishal in the district with measles symptoms and pneumonia. She was being given proper medical care. Meanwhile, the child died while undergoing treatment at around 2:30 pm on Saturday. He also said that a total of 856 children have been admitted with measles symptoms from March 17 to the morning of April 26. In the last 24 hours, 33 more children have recovered and been discharged from the hospital. With this, a total of 755 children have been discharged from the hospital.
Assistant Director (Administration) of the hospital Dr. Mohammad Mainuddin Khan said that three medical teams have been formed and medical activities are being conducted in the measles isolation ward on the 8th floor of the new building of the hospital. Doctors and nurses are providing medical services with sincerity.
