A yard meeting was held in Moulvibazar to raise public awareness about women’s abuse, dowry and child marriage. The meeting was organized on Tuesday (June 23, 2026) afternoon at the initiative of the National Women’s Organization, District Office, Moulvibazar and in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs. The chief guest of the program was – Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Moulvibazar District Touhiduzzaman Pavel. The program was presided over by – District Officer of the National Women’s Organization, Moulvibazar District Office Md. Kohidul Islam. In the meeting, the speakers discussed in detail about the prevention of women’s abuse, the harmful effects of dowry, the social and legal consequences of child marriage and women’s rights. They urged everyone to come forward to prevent these social ills by creating awareness at all levels of the family and society. Local women, members of women’s organizations, social leaders and people from different classes and professions participated in the event. The speakers said that social awareness and collective efforts, along with government initiatives, are very important to ensure the safety of women and children. The courtyard meeting was used to convey preventive messages against violence against women, dowry and child marriage to the general public.
