A woman named Shefali Begum (35) lost her right hand after being hit by a train in Brahmanbaria on Tuesday afternoon. When he came to commit suicide, he was hit by a train and his right hand was severed. The fire service personnel rescued him and admitted him to the district headquarters hospital. Md. Salahuddin said that his wife is mentally disturbed. He was talking about suicide for some time. But he did not say why he said these things. He came out of the house on Tuesday morning saying to buy medicine. Since then it could not be traced. He also said that they have two children in the family. They were living happily. There was no such problem in the family. But his wife did not understand why he did this. He rushed to the spot after receiving news of the train accident.
Sub-Inspector Hatim Ali Bhuiyan, in-charge of Brahmanbaria Railway Police Outpost, said that the woman was cut when the Chittagong-bound freight train from Dhaka crossed the Shimrailkandi area. With the help of the fire service, he was rescued and sent to the district headquarters hospital. The woman’s right hand was severed and her head was severely injured.
Brahmanbaria Fire Service Senior Station Officer Nazmul Alam said that the woman was rescued from the scene and brought to the hospital. He has head injuries along with a severed arm. The doctor advised to take him to Dhaka for better treatment.
