The riot situation in France has subsided somewhat. But not completely calmed down yet. Riots and protests have created a turbulent situation in the country for five consecutive days. Hundreds of protesters have already been arrested by the police. Police fired at a 17-year-old teenager named Nahel M for allegedly violating traffic laws in Paris last Tuesday. Protests started in the country mainly around the killing of that teenager. More than 150 people were arrested on Sunday night (July 2) local time. More than seven hundred people were arrested the night before. Due to the situation of riots, there were calls from various places to stop the protests. Even Nahel’s family urged the protesters to calm down. Meanwhile, mayors of various cities have called on people to take part in rallies outside the town hall against incidents of violence and looting. Shops in various cities were vandalized and looted during the protests. French President Emmanuel Macron will meet with the mayors of 220 cities affected by the violence on Tuesday (July 4). About 45,000 members of the security forces were deployed across the country on the third day of the protests. One of Nahel’s relatives told the BBC that they do not want such a riot situation to be created in the whole country over Nahel’s death. However, they are demanding justice for Nahel’s death. They urged people to remain calm. Before this, more than 1,300 people were arrested on Friday night local time and more than 900 people were arrested on Thursday. A teenager named Nahel M. died on the spot after being shot by police in Paris on Tuesday for allegedly violating traffic laws. Because of that incident, the protest-violence spread.
