A huge mass procession and public meeting have been held in support of Kazi Din Mohammad, the candidate for the eleven-party alliance nominated MP in the Comilla-6 (Adarsh Sadar, Comilla Metropolitan, Sadar South and Cantonment) constituency. Leaders and activists gathered at the Comilla Town Hall ground at 10 am on Monday (February 9).
The rally, moderated by Assistant Secretary of the Metropolitan Municipality Kamruzzaman Sohel, was attended by Metropolitan Nayebe Ameer Master Mosleuddin, Secretary Maulana Mahbubur Rahman, former Ward No. 6 Councilor Principal Mosharraf Hossain, AB Party District Convener Mia Mohammad Tawfiq, former Ward No. 1 Councilor Kazi Golam Kibria, former VP of Victoria College Professor Mujibur Rahman and many others. Jamaat-nominated MP candidate Kazi Deen Mohammad presided over the meeting.
The party’s Central Assistant Secretary General ATM Masum was present as the chief guest. He said, “This is not the last procession, there will be more processions. This movement will continue until justice is established in the society. Our lives are for the struggle. The scales must be decided in favor of the next national election to free extortion, terrorism, corruption and embezzlement.”
He further said, “For the past 17 years, people’s voting rights were taken away. Today, the eyes of the whole world are on Bangladesh. We will answer before the sun rises before going to the polling station, InshaAllah.”
Later, at 3 pm, another huge election rally was held at Kalirbazar ground in Adarsh Sadar Upazila. MP candidate Kazi Deen Mohammad spoke as the chief guest.
Metropolitan Nayebe Ameer Professor AKM Emdadul Haque Mamun, Metropolitan Secretary Maulana Mahbubur Rahman, former VP of Victoria College Professor Mujibur Rahman, Assistant Secretary and former Councilor of Ward No. 6 Principal Mosharraf Hossain were present as special guests. Union Ameer Kazi Zakir Hossain presided over the meeting, and Upazila Vice Chairman candidate Maulana Delwar Hossain Sabuj, Mufti Mahbubur Rahman, former Chairman of Galiara Union Md. Zahirul Islam and former AGS professor of Victoria College Shahidul Islam.
The public meeting was held in the presence of about thousands of people, both men and women.
