On the occasion of World Prematurity Day, the country’s first JCI accredited Evercare Hospital Dhaka organized such a special event on Thursday (November 17). They celebrated the day through patient forums and press conferences. Every year on this day, World Prematurity Day is celebrated all over the world. Experts discuss and discuss the causes and remedies for premature birth. They said that their organization is to solve the problem of premature birth and increase awareness among the public.

Speakers at the event said that children born before the specified time, i.e. before 37 weeks, are called preterm, premature or premature babies. The most common characteristic of premature babies is low birth weight.

They said that the exact cause of premature birth is not yet known. Whether the baby is premature or mature depends to some extent on the health problems the mother suffers from during pregnancy. Besides, if the child has birth defects, twins or more than one child, this type of child can be born.

Experts answer various questions about premature birth in patient forums. They advise everyone to be extra careful towards pregnant women. Also urged to take the services of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and communicate with paediatricians to prevent infant mortality.

Dr. Arif Mahmud said, the neonatal and intensive care unit of Evercare Hospital Dhaka is one of the tertiary neonatal centers in Bangladesh. Since 2004, this unit has been providing care and services to newborns in Bangladesh. He said the hospital has excelled by significantly reducing neonatal mortality through modernization of facilities, specialized training and humanization of neonatal care.
