Touhid Hossain Sarkar : Advocate Atiqur Rahman, central president of the Bangladesh Workers’ Welfare Federation, said that it is possible to ensure proper evaluation of the sacrifices of the martyrs of the July Uprising only through the implementation of the referendum verdict and the July Charter.
He said, “The desired state reforms and elimination of discrimination are not possible without implementing the referendum verdict. The nation must fulfill its responsibility towards the martyrs by completing the necessary reform activities as per the people’s expectations and implementing the July Charter.”
He made these remarks while addressing the preparatory meeting organized by the Bangladesh Workers’ Welfare Federation to implement the centrally announced July program on Wednesday (July 15).
Advocate Atiqur Rahman said, the month of July is a glorious and significant chapter in the history of Bangladesh. Numerous working people sacrificed their lives in the July mass uprising. The family members of the martyrs are still carrying that grief and pain. Therefore, to protect the dignity of their sacrifice, necessary reform activities must be completed quickly, initiatives must be taken to implement the referendum verdict and implement the July Charter.
He further said that leaders and activists at all levels of the organization must work together to successfully implement the program announced in July to establish the rights of working people, build a society without discrimination, and reflect the aspirations of the people.
The meeting was moderated by Laskar Md. Taslim, Central General Secretary of Bangladesh Workers’ Welfare Federation.
Central Senior Vice President Professor Harunur Rashid Khan, Vice Presidents Golam Rabbani, Kabir Ahmed and Mujibur Rahman Bhuiyan, Deputy General Secretary Advocate Alamgir Hossain, Abdus Salam, Maulana Muhibullah, Akhtaruzzaman, Office Secretary Nurul Amin and members of the Central Executive Council were present at the preparatory meeting.
The meeting discussed in detail the organizational preparations, work plans and nationwide implementation strategies for the implementation of the programs announced in July. It was also decided to take necessary preparations for the successful implementation of the programs.
