The Intelligence Department (DB) of Rangpur Metropolitan Police immediately intensified the investigation into the incident in which an auto driver named Aminul Islam was killed by his friend’s key during a fight due to a dispute in Tatipara area of Rangpur city.
Immediately after the incident, the accused friend Bijoy left the scene and went into hiding. Under the direction of the Honorable Police Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police, a smart team of the DB department, under the supervision of the DC (DB), conducted a raid based on information technology and secret information.
In the raid, the main accused in the murder, Bijoy Mohant (31), father: Bishu Mohant, Sang-Kamal Kachna, Bairagipara, was arrested from Taraganj police station area of Rangpur district.
Legal action is being taken against the arrested accused and other matters related to this incident are under investigation.
Rangpur Metropolitan Police is always vigilant to protect the lives and property of the city residents and is determined to take strict legal action against any crime.
