Officials of the Water Development Board (PUBO) are on alert by keeping all sluices (44) of the Teesta Barrage open due to the rise and fall of the river water.

Since Thursday (June 29) afternoon, water has flowed 20 cm below the water mark at the Doani barrage point.  As a result, the water pressure in the kiln area is increasing.  Low-lying areas are being flooded.

Dalia Water Development Board Executive Engineer Asfauddaula said, after flowing above 2 cm in the morning, the water decreased again at 9 am and flowed 3 cm below the flood line.

Hatibandhar Gaddimari UP Chairman Abu Bakkar Siddique Shyamal said that 10-12 days ago, Teesta water entered the houses.  About 6 metric tons of rice has been distributed among the water-stressed people in the first round.  The people of Teesta Par are being searched all the time.
