A press conference was held in Tangail against the destruction of cropland by Bhumidusya and the death threats against Basail Upazila chairman Kazi Alid Islam. On Monday (May 8) at noon, a press conference was organized under the banner of the general public at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium. In the press conference, the chairman said that the Bhumidusyas threatened to kill him for stopping the illegal activities of the Bhumidusyas. Criticizing the administration, he also said that although the soil was sold illegally, the soil cutting started again after the administration had conducted a nominal demonstration campaign and left. Even though Pramasan has been repeatedly informed, the cutting of soil is not stopped for some unknown reason. Upazila Awami League organizing secretary Shaheen Talukdar, Kauljani Union Parishad chairman Ataul Gani Habib, Kanchanpur Union Awami League former president Jamal Khan and other leaders were present.
