Tangail District Truck-Mini Truck and Covered Van Workers Union held an exchange meeting. Recently, the former general secretary of the organization, Sobahan Mia, attacked the current president-general secretary along with the members of the executive council and vandalized the office of the organization’s former general secretary. Md. Bala Mia, President of Tangail District Truck Workers Union presided over the meeting.

General Secretary Abu Bakkar Siddique Mahtab spoke in the moderator, effective member of District Truck Shamik Union. Aminur Rahman, Vice President. Farhad Ali, Md. Iqbal Hossain, joint general secretary Azizur Rahman Chani, co-editor Jamal Hossain Bhuapuri, Shahidul Islam Anand, treasurer Mahbub Alam Tuhin, organizational secretary. All presidents and general secretaries of upazila level organizations including Abdur Rauf. Speakers in the meeting said that Tangail District Truck-Labor Union President Bala Mia and General Secretary Abu Bakkar Siddique Mahtab did not develop in a day. They have come to this stage after enduring many setbacks and burning wood. Also, they have been repeatedly elected president-editor through elections. They have been elected again and again because they have the love of workers. The speakers strongly condemned and protested against this barbaric attack on them.

Speakers also said that the former general secretary Sobahan Miah has threatened the organization by not giving an account of 60 lakh taka. A case has been filed in the court in this regard. At the end of the speech, the accused former general secretary of the Tangail District Truck Workers’ Union was unanimously elected as a member. Sobahan Mia was temporarily suspended. Before this, more than 500 workers from different upazilas of the district took part in a procession and took part in an exchange meeting.
