The police have arrested Advocate Farhad Iqbal, the general secretary of Tangail district BNP, who is accused in the police murder, explosives and sabotage cases. The police of Tangail Sadar police station arrested him from Bepari neighborhood of the city on Thursday afternoon, November 9.
Tangail Sadar police station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Abu Chalam Miah confirmed the matter. The officer-in-charge said that on the basis of secret information, a special team of the police conducted an operation on Thursday afternoon and arrested Farhad Iqbal, a known accused in the case of explosive-sabotage and police killing at the BNP’s mass rally on October 28, from the end of Bepari Para area of the city. Meanwhile, BNP president Hasanuzzamil Shaheen expressed his anger over the arrest of Advocate Farhad Iqbal, general secretary of BNP in Tangail district.
