In connection with the theft of 06 easy bikes and 01 bird van, the accused was quickly arrested, and the easy bike and bird van were recovered and 03 separate theft cases were filed.
First Incident-01 Theft of Easybike: Plaintiff Md. Marfat Ali (43), father- Md. Yar Ali Khan, Sang-Khalisakundi Malipara, Thana-Daulatpur, District-Kushtia filed a statement against the unknown thief/thieves that the plaintiff is a van the driver One and a half years ago, the plaintiff bought 01 red color DOWDO battery operated easy bike, the price of which is estimated at Tk. Livelihood of their family. Eng 08/04/2023 A.D. Date morning approx. 09.00 hours Plaintiff’s son took rent from home to Kushtia city. After that, the plaintiff’s son was renting at various places in Kushtia city on 08/04/2023 AD at approximately 11.30 hrs. from Ektara junction on NS Road, an unidentified person 01(one) got on the easy bike of the plaintiff’s son and went to Rajarhat junction as a passenger. Then the plaintiff’s son reached Bara Bazar Rajarhat intersection under Kushtia model police station with the said unknown passenger, the person stopped the plaintiff’s son’s easy bike and pointed to a nearby house and said, I am sitting on the easy bike, you can leave the bag of milk at my house. Then the plaintiff’s son in good faith stopped the easybike and took the key with him and went to give the bag of milk at home. Eng-08/04/2023 AD At approximately 11.40 hours, the said unknown passenger stole the easy bike in connivance with the unknown thief/thieves. In this regard, Kushtia Model Police Station Case No-29, Date-09/04/2023 AD, Section-379 Penal Code is registered.
Immediate operation of Kushtia Model Police Station: The person who asked the plaintiff’s son Md. Hasibul Islam (easy bike driver) to bring the bag of milk to the house is called Johnny. First he was arrested on 09/04/2023 from his home Barkhada Madhyapara. When he confessed to stealing the easy bike during interrogation, he was taken to Baniapara village under Kumarkhali police station of Kushtia district to conduct the easy bike recovery operation. But as no easybike was found there, the arrested accused said his other 03 accomplices 1. Md Sabuj Sheikh (20), 2. Arshed (25), 3. Imran (25) took the Gana Easybike and sold it to Anarul (45) and his son Roni (19) of Anjangachi village under Mirpur police station for Rs.57,000/-. According to the information given by Johnny earlier, Sabuj Sheikh was arrested from Char Milpara area under Kushtia Model Police Station. The stolen easy bike was recovered from the house of Anarul (45) of Anjangachi village under Mirpur Police Station along with Johnny and Sabuj and Roni was arrested and the mastermind of the easy bike theft fled to Md. Anarul Sukaushal when he sensed the presence of the police. After that, the arrested accused told Roni during the interrogation that he bought the stolen e-bikes from Md. Kabir Hossain (35) of Kushtia municipality, Hridoy (25) of Char Milapara under Kushtia municipality and Md. Masud (35) of Sadarpur village under Mirpur police station and sold the e-bikes to Md. Shamsul of Ishwardi area of Pabna district. is selling So far they have sold 80 to 90 easy bikes to Md. Shamsul.
Regarding the second incident – easybike theft:
In the questioning of the accused Johnny, he also said that he had previously sold 01 easy bike with his associates at the garage address of Md. Tajul Islam under Kushtia Municipality – New Kamalapur Karim Box Lane. Based on this, the accused was taken along with Johnny to the said garage on 10/04/2023 and when the owner of the said garage, Tajul Islam, was questioned, he could not show the actual ownership documents/showroom papers of the 05 Easybikes, the copy of the transfer of ownership. After seizing the mentioned 05 easybikes, the police have filed a case No-32, Date-10/04/2023, Section-413 Penal Code of Model Police Station of Kushtia District as plaintiff. 3. Roni Ahmed (19), Father- Anarul Islam, Sang- Anjangachi, Thana- Mirpur, District- Kushtia. PC PR – No.
4. Tajul Islam (40), Father- Deceased Azharul Islam, Sr.- New Kamalapur Karim Box Lane, Thiana & District- Kushtia. PC PR – No.
3rd Incident-Regarding Bird Van Theft: Plaintiff Rashidul Islam (51), father-deceased Zaker Ali, Sang-BB 1st Lane, Aruapara, Thana and District-Kushtia, appeared at your police station and filed a statement against the unknown thief/thieves that the plaintiff is a bird van driver by profession. The plaintiff owns a battery operated bird van. Eng 06/04/2023 A.D. Date morning approx. 09.30 hrs Plaintiff came to Kushtia town with Pakhi van from his house for rent. Like every day, the plaintiff left the van on the road in front of his house and went inside the house to eat. After eating and drinking, on the same day at about 3.20 pm, I came to see that the bird van parked in front of the house was gone. Eng 06/04/2023 AD Anytime between 14.30 hrs and 15.20 hrs, unknown thief or thieves stole the Pakhi van from the road in front of the plaintiff’s house in Ar-Yapara, BB 1st Lane under Kushtia Model Police Station. In this regard, Kushtia Model Police Station Case No-31, Date-10/04/2023 AD, Section-379 Penal Code has been registered.
Immediate Operation of Kushtia Model Police Station: Accused Md. Sarjed (20) was arrested as a member of stolen van on 10/04/2023 from Batoil Mor area of Kushtia Town and after questioning him, he admitted that he was 06/04/2023 of Kushtia Town. Yakub (38) stole a total of 10/15 bird vans from Ar-Yapara and sold them to Ballabpur under Kushtia police station. According to the information given by him, Yakub (38) was arrested from his home in Ballabpur area under Kushtia police station and the plaintiff’s stolen Pakhi van was recovered and seized. Note that he is a bird van maker. Different birds buy vans and sell them by changing their colors. Accused Yakub (38), PC PR – 01 has robbery preparation case.
Md. Khairul Alam, Superintendent of Police, Kushtia, confirmed the matter to journalists through a press briefing on 10/04/2023, Monday morning in the conference room of Kushtia Police Superintendent’s office.
