As part of the central program of the anti-discrimination student movement, students protested in front of Butter Mor area of the city on Saturday, August 3 from 11 am to 3 am. Students from different areas of the upazila gathered there and started protesting. At that time, several teachers and parents participated in the protest expressing solidarity with their movement. At this time, the students raised various slogans including demanding to accept the 9-point demand announced by blocking the Jaipurhat Bogra highway. The agitators observed a minute’s silence by standing on the highway to pray for the peace of the souls of those killed in the quota movement. This movement of students continued till 3 pm. Later the students left with the procession. While leaving, the students saw the police and the police vehicles, some students were seen standing in front and shouting slogans against the police. The students told the police that you should not stand and come down the street with us Later the other students made an announcement on the mic to avoid any untoward incident and left with the students.
