State Minister Abdul Bari assures of 500 beds and medical college in Joypurhat

As part of the initiative to further strengthen the health infrastructure of Joypurhat, State Minister for Public Administration and Food Abdul Bari has assured of upgrading the 250-bed general hospital to 500 beds and establishing a medical college.
He gave this assurance while talking to reporters after the management committee meeting held in the hospital’s conference room around 11 am on Saturday.
The State Minister said,
“Developing healthcare for the people of Joypurhat is our priority. The necessary process for expanding the hospital and establishing a medical college will be taken forward quickly.”
The meeting was attended by District Administrator Al Mamun Mia, District Council Administrator Masud Rana Pradhan, Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mahbub Un Nabi, Superintendent Sardar Rashed Mubarak, BMA District Branch General Secretary Dr. Shamsujoha, General Secretary of the Red Crescent District Unit Obaidur Rahman Sweet.
In addition, representatives of various government and private departments were present.

Locals believe that the expansion of the hospital and the establishment of a medical college will bring about a radical change in the medical facilities of the district.
