Bangladesh Police Inspector General (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun said, we have now gained the ability to eradicate militancy and terrorism.

He said this while addressing the chief guest at the Sudhi rally held at the Rangpur District Shilpakala Academy Auditorium on Monday (September 18). The event was organized on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RPMP).
Due to the law and order situation being normal, the way Hon’ble Prime Minister has energized various sectors, a wave of development activities has been created in various places. There is a lot of talk about the price of things, not being available, but I think these things will happen. Now the production is increasing. Earlier the people of South Bengal used to go to different places in search of work now different exotic fruits are being cultivated in their area. Tourism is developing in Sundarbans and is also happening in Rangpur. A tide of development is blowing everywhere.
At the beginning of the program, RPMP Commissioner Md. IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun said that sustainable development requires sustainable security. The police chief said that when the honorable prime minister took over, the country’s per capita income was $500. And now our per capita income is about $3000, we have improved. When I was in Nilphamari, the salary I was getting as a Superintendent of Police did not allow for regular air travel. Earlier, a plane used to come from Dhaka to Syedpur via Rajshahi, then return to Dhaka via Rajshahi. And now there are 18 regular daily flights from Syedpur. This means our purchasing power has increased, financial capacity has increased.
The IGP said that the main problems of this city are drugs, gambling and traffic congestion. Regular exercise will improve these problems. Apart from drug raids, children should be monitored where they are going and who they are associating with. Raising the awareness of the parents and every citizen has to fulfill his responsibility from his own place. The inspector general of police wants everyone’s cooperation in building smart policing in the coming days.
