Keeping in mind the theme of this year, “No one is left behind who has social service” – on Thursday, January 2, the District Administration and District Social Service Office organized a balloon-festoon and pigeon release ceremony at the Shilpakala Academy premises at 10 am on the occasion of National Social Service Day-2025. Dinajpur Deputy Commissioner Md. Rafiqul Islam inaugurated the day by releasing balloons, festoons and pigeons.
After the inauguration, an open discussion was held at the Central Shahid Minar premises adjacent to Dinajpur’s traditional Gor-e-Shahid Maidan through a talk. District Disability Affairs Officer Md. Mehedi Hasan delivered the welcome speech under the chairmanship of Deputy Director of District Social Service Office Md. Mainul Haque.
Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Shahdhashad spoke as special guests; Md. Sharif and General Secretary of Dinajpur Press Club Golam Nabi Dulal. City Social Service Officer Md. Mainul Islam, Upazila Social Service Officer Md. Asaduzzaman Asad delivered the welcome address. Dinajpur Government Women’s College teacher Md. Zahurul Islam read the concept paper. Pallishree’s Rawnak Ara Haque Nipa, Rehena Begum, Rabeya Begum gave a discussion on the concept paper. Assistant Director of the District Social Service Office Md. Munir Hossain acted as the moderator. Lecturer Harun-ur-Rashid conducted the open discussion program.
Deputy Director of the District Social Service Office Md. Mainul Haque distributed prizes among the participants in the open discussion.
