A shop theft of lakhs of rupees has been organized in Madaripur’s Kalkini during the day. The incident took place at Fasiatala market of the upazila on Friday (August 25) at noon.
According to the shop owner, the owner of Sharif Cosmetics in Fasciatla Bazaar of Kalkini Upazila opens the shop as usual in the morning. After that, when he went home to have lunch, the thief entered the shop at around half past one. Went to the shop in the afternoon and found the tin cut and the cash box broken. The store’s cash was broken and millions of rupees were taken away. The thief is clearly visible on CCTV in the store.
The owner of the shop, Sharif Talukder, said, “My shop has been stolen before.” Despite the presence of CCTV, the police are yet to nab any of them. Now it’s stolen again. Demand to the police that everyone involved in this theft is brought under the law as soon as possible. And if anyone can catch the thief after seeing the CCTV footage, he will be rewarded and his identity will be kept secret.
Fasciatla market committee president Najeeb Khan said that thefts are constantly increasing in the market. Demand to the administration to quickly bring them under the law.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kalkini Police Station Nazmul Hasan said, I have sent the police to the spot after receiving the information. No complaints so far. Legal action will be taken subject to investigation if complaints are received.
