Sheikh Russell Day was celebrated in Chapainawabganj with the motto “Sheikh Russell Radiant, Fearless, Serene Durjoy”.
On Wednesday (October 18) morning, a colorful rally was held at the collectorate premises of Chapainawabganj District Commissioner’s office and the 60th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu’s youngest son Shaheed Sheikh Russell was celebrated by cutting a cake at the Bangabandhu stage.
On the occasion of Sheikh Russell Day, the centrally organized inaugural and Sheikh Russell Medal awarding ceremony was telecast live on the big screen installed at the Bangabandhu stage. District Commissioner AKM Ghaliv Khan (DC) graced the occasion along with other district level officials.
After that, on the occasion of Sheikh Russell Day, a discussion meeting and prize distribution and cultural program was held at Bangabandhu Manch as chief guest by Deputy Commissioner AKM Ghaliv Khan. After the event, he visited the Collectorate Children’s Park along with young children and teenagers.
Later, the foundation stone of Joy Set Center (Joy Smart Service and Employment Training Center) was laid in Chapainawabganj district under the digital connectivity project.
