A seminar was held on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day at Barura Jhalam High School and College, Comilla. On Thursday at 3 pm, in the light of the theme of the role of teachers in improving the quality of education, in the Jhalam High School and College auditorium, under the chairmanship of Principal Mohammad Emdadul Haque, the chief guest was the president of the governing body of the college and the general secretary of Barura Upazila Jankalyan Samiti, Md. Abdus Samad. Sarkar Shiuli Akhter, Assistant Professor of Bengali Department of Jhalam High School and College, presented the paper in the seminar conducted by Md. Forkan Hossain Majumdar, Assistant Headmaster of the school branch. Professor Shyama Prasad Bhattacharya of Muradnagar Srikail Government Degree College, Assistant Professor of Statistics Department of Jhalam High School and College Zahirul Islam, Senior Lecturer of English Department Nasreen Sultana, Assistant Teacher of School Branch Md. Abdus Salam discussed the essay as the main discussant. Former assistant teacher of school branch Md. Abdur Rahman, senior lecturer of college branch Md. Masud Majumdar, lecturer Md. Abul Bashar were present on this occasion. On this day, for taking legal action and playing a brave role in protesting the brutal attack on students in Jhalam High School and college hostel and contributing to the improvement of the quality of education. Two parent representatives and three teachers were felicitated and mementos were presented. They are Jhalam High School and College parent representative Md. Kamal Hossain, engineer Md. Khorshed Alam Milan, assistant head teacher Md. Forkan Hossain Majumder, teacher representative and senior lecturer Md. Masud Majumder, assistant teacher Md. Nashir Ahmed. At the end of the program, the assistant teacher of Islam and Moral Education, Md. Habibur Rahman led the prayer and prayer.
