 Rifat Mia (12), a school student who drowned in Brahmanbaria on Monday afternoon, was buried. Rifat is the son of Emran Mia of Medda Municipal Area and a class five student of Medda (West) Government Primary School. Brahmanbaria sadar police station officer in charge (OC) confirmed the truth of the incident. Emranul Islam said that Emran went to the pond near the upazila parishad at around 12 o’clock on his way home after the exam. Imran, not knowing how to swim, accidentally drowned in the water. Locals rescued him and took him to Brahmanbaria District Headquarters Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
