The police found a fake money factory inside a garment factory in Savar Upazila’s Bongaon Union, near Dhaka. Savar Model Thana Police arrested 3 people in this incident. During this time, more than crores of fake money was recovered along with several equipments for making fake money. On Wednesday (May 24) at around 11 o’clock, they were arrested by conducting a main raid inside South Bengal Apparels, owned by Sakhawat Hossain Khan, near Bachir Bazar Central Jame Masjid in the old house of Sadapur in Bangaon Union. It is said that a former bank official is also involved in this incident. Earlier, the police started raiding the factory from Tuesday evening The arrested are Sakhawat Hossain Khan (45), son of Zainal Abedin Khan, owner of a counterfeit money factory, of Digrachar Khan village of Muladi police station, Barisal district, Sujan Mia (30), son of Al Islam Sardar of Gayadhar village, Palong police station of Shariatpur district, and Manik Mollar of Bayatikandi village of Muladi police station, Barisal district. Son Nazmul Hossain (24). Locals said that the person named Sakhawat Hossain Khan has been managing the factory for a long time. However, the locals told this reporter that we know the factory as a garment factory. Locals claim that they got to know after the police operation today that there is a counterfeit money factory behind the clothing factory. In a press briefing after the operation, Dhaka District Police Superintendent Asaduzzaman PPM said that this morning, while going to buy litchi with fake money in front of Andha market in Savar, local people along with shopkeepers identified fake notes and arrested one person and reported to Savar police station. On receiving the information, Savar Model Police Station conducted a raid on the factory in Sadhapur Puranbari area of Bongaon of Savar with the arrested person. After that 50 lakhs of fully prepared fake rupees and more than 50 lakhs of rupees in printed condition were found. Later, raids were conducted from morning to noon and three people were arrested along with the recovery of all fake money from the factory. He also said that during the interrogation of the accused, it was revealed that a fake note manufacturing factory was set up inside the garment with the help of some former bank officials. On the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, they were dreaming of owning a huge amount of money by using these fake notes in the cow market. They will be questioned further.
