Ramisa’s killer will be given maximum punishment within next month: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has announced that the maximum punishment will be ensured for Ramisa’s killer within the next month.

The Prime Minister made this announcement at the national program of the 127th birth anniversary of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam in Trishal on Saturday afternoon.

He said, “The biggest loss, especially during the era of ousted fascism, has been completely destroyed. The brutal death of an innocent girl in Mirpur, Dhaka, has provided conclusive evidence of the ultimate degradation of human values.”

He said, “I want to clearly present this issue to you in today’s program. The current government will not accept this type of child abuse or women abuse in any way. The current government will ensure the maximum punishment for Ramisa’s killer within the next month, God willing. The highest punishment is the death penalty.’

The Prime Minister mentioned this highest punishment, saying, ‘So that in the future no person, no human being dares to torture children or women like this.’

He said, ‘To establish a safe and humane state and society, we must establish the rule of law. We must change the political culture.’

‘At the same time, we must revive the religious and socio-cultural values ​​of the present era of Bangladesh in our national life. In this regard, the life and work of poet Kazi Nazrul Islam are relevant.’

Following Ramisa’s murder, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited Ramisa’s Pallavi residence last Thursday night and met her grieving father and elder sister and asked them to speed up the trial of this murder.

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, who was with the Prime Minister, later told reporters, “The police will submit the charge sheet in the Ramisa murder case to the court on Sunday afternoon.”

The three-day event to mark the birth anniversary of the national poet was held at the Nazrul Mancha at Nazrul Academy Ground in Darirampur, Trishal, which is associated with the poet’s childhood memories, at the initiative of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
