The leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement have announced a new program. They have called for a rally at Shahbagh-Shaheed Minar on Monday (August 4) and a ‘Long March to Dhaka’ program on Tuesday.

The statement of the anti-discrimination student movement sent to the media said that tomorrow, August 5 (Monday), martyrs’ memorial plaques will be unveiled in the places of martyrdom in memory of martyrs across the country. And in Dhaka, workers’ rally will be held at Shahbagh at 11 am and women’s rally at Shaheed Minar at 5 pm. Besides, it is also informed that protests and mass sit-in programs will be held across the country.

In addition, in the statement on Tuesday (August 6), the anti-discrimination student movement announced the ‘Long March to Dhaka’ program and called upon students, citizens and workers from all over the country to come to Dhaka.

It is also said that the agitators will gather at Shahbagh at 2 pm on Tuesday. Under the slogan of ‘Let go of power, come to Dhaka, the people’, there was a call for the formation of student-led struggle committees in all areas, neighborhoods, villages, upazilas and districts. It is said that if the internet is shut down, the coordinators are also arrested and disappeared, yet everyone will be on the streets peacefully until the government falls on unilateral demands.
