Galachipa Upazila Anchor Committee observes National River Safety Day with the aim of river, our mother river is life, river safety, encroachment pollution and navigational safety. During the program, the administration, women activists, representatives of civil society held rallies at three places in the upazila headquarters. Md. Mohiuddin Al Helal, Upazila Sudakh Executive Officer and President of the River Protection Committee, was present as the chief guest in the gathering. Daqua UP Chairman Biswajit Roy, women activists Hosne Ara Jannat, Jahanara Begum, Kulsum Begum and Fatima Begum were special guests. Galachipa Upazila anchor committee president and press club president Khalid Hossain Milton, general secretary Md. Zillur Rahman Jewel, journalist Mazharul Islam Moli, Mithun Pal, and journalist Shishir Ranjan Howladar presided over the rally. Speakers in the gathering called for the responsible role of government for river erosion, river pollution, maritime safety.
