Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation in the country. RAB is regularly carrying out extensive operations against militants, terrorists, organized criminals, armed criminals, narcotics, robbers and robberies. In continuation of this yesterday, on March 31, 2023 AD, a raiding team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in Dhopasur area under Keraniganj Model Police Station of Dhaka District, one of the absconding accused in Bandar Police Station robbery case of Barisal District, Dakat Sardar Md. Badal Sharif (42), father Md. Wahab Sharif, Sang-Rabipur, Thana-Bakerganj, District-Barisal arrested. Meanwhile, 01 mobile phone was recovered from him. Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested person is the leader of an organized dacoity gang. He led a robbery with a gang of 8/10 persons in a house in Hijltala area of Chandpur Union under Bandar Thana of Barisal District on 20-09-2022 AD. Besides, it is known that he along with his dacoit gang has been committing robberies in different areas including Dhaka-Barisal highway under the threat of domestic weapons for quite some time. The arrested person has been handed over to the concerned police station.
