RAB-10 has arrested Ashraf, the fugitive accused of kidnapping, rape and murder case in Parbatipur area of Dinajpur district from South Keraniganj area of Dhaka. Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the law and order situation in the country. RAB has been carrying out regular operations to arrest militants, terrorists, organized criminals, robbers, drug dealers and fugitives convicted in various cases including murder, kidnapping and rape. RAB has already been able to gain the public’s trust in crime control with the continuation of intelligence surveillance and raiding activities. In continuation of this yesterday on 04 September 2023 AD at approximately 18:30 hours, a raiding team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in Chunkutia area under Dakshin Keraniganj police station of Dhaka district based on secret information. In the said operation, Parvatipur Police Station of Dinajpur District, Case No-323/13, Section: 7/9(2) of Women and Child Torture Suppression Act 2000 (Amendment-2003), Md. Ashraf Ali (45), the fugitive accused of the said abduction, rape and murder case, Father-Md Ashar Ali, Sang-Asur Kot, Thana-Parbatipur, District-Dinajpur’ was arrested. During preliminary interrogation, the arrested accused confessed to be absconding accused in the said case. It is known that he was hiding in different areas of the country including South Keraniganj of Dhaka since the case was registered. The arrested accused has been handed over to the concerned police station.
