RAB-10 has arrested 11 persons including Rakib, the master of the dacoit gang, along with domestic weapons while preparing for the robbery from Jatrabari area of the capital.

Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation in the country. Since its inception, RAB has been able to arrest huge amounts of illegal arms, ammunition, dacoits, extortionists, terrorists, murderers, robbers, kidnappers and various types of fraudsters and gain the trust of the general public. This campaign of RAB has already managed to gain the trust of the people.
In continuation of this, on the night of 23rd May 2024 at approximately 22.30 hours, a raiding team of RAB-10 came to know on the basis of secret information that some members of a bandit group were preparing for robbery on the roof of a residential hotel in South Jatrabari area under Jatrabari police station of the capital Dhaka. Later, when the raiding team of RAB reached the spot, they found 11 youths gathered and giving advice in a suspicious condition. Sensing the presence of RAB, the members of the bandit group tried to escape from there quickly, the raiding team of RAB, the mastermind of bandit gang 1. Md. Rakib Hossain (20), father- Md. Milan, Sang-Matuail Jangalbari, Thana-Jatrabari, Dhaka arrested 11 people with domestic weapons during the preparation of the robbery. Name of other persons arrested 2. Md. Yachin (20), Father- Md. Raihan @ Hriday (28), Father- Md. Badsha Mia, Sang- Maniknagar Nazimuddin Gali, Thana-Mugda, Dhaka, 5. Akash Majhi (19), Father- Mainuddin Majhi, Sang- Majhikandi, Thana- Sakhipur, District- Shariatpur, 6. Md. Sajib (19), Father- Md. Faju Rahman, Sang- Shanir Akhara, Haji Mosque, Thana- Jatrabari, Dhaka, 7. Rabbi Hossain (26), Father- Rafiqul Islam, Sang- Rayerbagh, Rashidbagh, Thana- Jatrabari, Dhaka, 8. Mostakim (28), Father – Morchalin, Sang – Nabinagar, Thana – Jatrabari, Dhaka, 9. Md Rahad (27), Father- Abu Taher, Sang- Qutubkhali Khan Villa, Police Station-Jatrabari, Dhaka, 10. Shanto Ahmed (25), Father- Deceased Kalu Mia, Sang- South Kutubkhali, Thana- Jatrabari, Dhaka, 11. Md. Ali (25), Father- Shukur Ali Sardar, Sang- Gosaibagh, Thana- Munshiganj Sadar, District- Munshiganj. Meanwhile, 01 dagger, 01 ramada, 01 hasua, 02 long knives with handles were recovered from them.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested persons were conducting various types of criminal activities including theft, robbery, extortion in different areas of the country including Jatrabari in the capital Dhaka. Legal action is pending against those arrested.
