RAB-10 has arrested 01 drug dealer along with 44 kg of marijuana worth approximately 13.50 lakh taka in the Jatrabari police station area of ​​the capital and seized the pickup van used to transport the drugs.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) is playing a leading role in maintaining law and order in the country and conducting anti-drug operations. As part of RAB’s regular operations to protect the youth from the menace of drugs, today, on 25/03/2026 at approximately 2:30 pm, an operational team of RAB-10 conducted an operation from the Jatrabari police station area of ​​the capital and recovered a large quantity of marijuana and a pickup truck and arrested 01 active member of the drug gang.
Based on intelligence information, a smart operation team of RAB-10, CPC-1, Jatrabari Camp conducted a raid in the area near Matuail U-turn on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway under Jatrabari Police Station in the capital. During the raid, RAB members recovered 44 (forty-four) kg of illegal marijuana worth about 13,50,000/- (thirteen lakh fifty thousand) taka kept inside a pickup truck and arrested a person. The name of the arrested person is 1. Md. Khokon Sharif (40), father-Md. Lal Mia, Sang-1 No. Road, Chand Udyan, Thana-Mohammadpur, DMP, Dhaka. At that time, the pickup truck with registration number Dhaka Metro-No. 12-3776 used for transporting drugs was seized.
 It is revealed that the arrested person is a professional drug dealer. He had been illegally collecting marijuana and other narcotics from the border areas of the country for some time and supplying them to different parts of the country including the capital. The arrested person along with the recovered narcotics has been handed over to the DMP, Jatrabari Police Station, Dhaka for filing a case under the Narcotics Control Act.
Drugs are the most dangerous poison in society. It is destroying our youth society, creating instability in families and threatening national security.
