 RAB-10 arrested 06 illegal arms dealers with 04 pistols and huge weapons making equipment from Badda area of ​​the capital.

Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation in the country. RAB has been conducting regular operations to arrest the accused in various sensational cases including militants, armed terrorists, organized criminals, robbers, drug dealers, murder and kidnapping. In addition, RAB has been able to gain the reputation of the people by arresting armed terrorists and illegal traders and bringing them under the law.

Recently, RAB has learned based on intelligence information that some illegal arms dealers have been illegally manufacturing various weapons including pistols and supplying them in exchange of money to armed terrorists, extortionists, drug dealers and various saboteurs in different areas of the country including the capital Dhaka. RAB increased intelligence surveillance to arrest the illegal arms dealers and bring them under the law.

In continuation of this yesterday, on March 11, 2024, at approximately 22:50, an raid team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in North Badda area under Badda police station of the capital Dhaka based on intelligence information. Arms maker 1 is the mastermind of the illegal arms dealer gang in the said operation. Md. Mokhleshur Rahman Sagar (42), father-Abdul Hasem, Sang-Navinagar Madhyapara, Thana-Navinagar, District-Brahmanbaria and his chief accomplice 2. Md. Tanveer Ahmed (32), father-AKM Fazlul Haque, Sang-Jagannathkathi, Thana-Nesharabad, District-Pirojpur arrested.

According to the information given by arrested Mokhleshur and Tanveer, the said raiding team of RAB-10 conducted another operation on 12/03/2024 at approximately 02:50 am in the East-Padardia area under Badda police station of Dhaka, the capital of Dhaka and arrested the said illegal arms manufacturing and business gang. 04 other members were arrested. Name of the arrested accused 3. Anik Hassan (28), father-Imam Mehdi, mother- Champa Begum, 4. Md. Abu Yusuf Saikat (28), father – Md. Abul Hossain, 5. Raju Hossain (38), father-deceased Montu Mia and 6. Md. Amir Hossain (40), Father-Md. Channamiya, Sarbsang-Dakshin Kauri Khara, Thana-Nesharabad, District-Pirojpur. Meanwhile, 04 pistols, 04 round cartridge pieces, 7 pistol wooden forms, 10 firing mechanisms, 04 triggers, 02 pistol handgrips, 02 drill bits, 05 sand, 50 springs, 40 pistol nut bolts, 02 compasses, 03 gauges, 04 clamps were recovered from them. , 02 Drill Machine, 02 Bice, 01 Varni Scale, 01 Mugur, 04 Clam, 20 Hesco Frame, 02 Gold LS Flam, 01 Tool Box, 01 Garender Machine, 01 Wood Supply, 01 Hammer, 04 Shiris paper were recovered.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested Md. Mokhleshur Rahman Sagar is the mastermind of the illegal arms manufacturing and arms dealer gang. He is a sculptor/sculptor by profession. Due to the said sculpture/statue making skills, Mokhlesur Rahman Sagar had been working as a sculptor/statue maker in Calcutta, India and Siliguri, Assam for about 12 years. Later there he met a weapon maker named Sukumar and from that person Mokhleshur Rahman Sagar acquired the skill of weapon making. After that, Mokhleshur Rahman Sagar came to the country and planned to supply the illegal weapons in exchange of a large amount of money, hoping to become a millionaire in a short time.

As part of this, he initially formed a syndicate with Tanveer, Anik and Saikat to manufacture and supply weapons. The arrested Tanvi is a laser CNC designer by profession. Being a laser CNC designer, he has mastered the ability to cut any 2D design on the computer very precisely. Utilizing that skill, Tanvir worked as Sagar’s chief weapon maker by manufacturing various weapon parts as per Sagar’s designs. Sagar and Tanvi used to make weapons and hand them over to Anik and Saikat.

Later, Anik and Saikat used to sell the weapons to different buyers. In this case, the person used to sell the pistol/weapon for Rs.3,00,000/- (three lakhs). The interrogation also revealed that all of them involved themselves in this business to earn more money in a short period of time.
Arrested Amir and Raju are one of their arms buyers. It is known that Amir and Raju used to buy the said weapons and sell them at higher prices to various terrorists, extortionists, drug dealers and various saboteurs. Both of them approached Anik and Saikat for the purpose of buying arms and were caught red-handed by RAB while buying and selling arms.

Legal action is pending against the arrested accused.
