Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation in the country. RAB has been conducting regular operations against militants, terrorists, organized criminals, armed criminals, robbers and narcotics. RAB has continued its anti-narcotics campaign to eradicate drugs with the slogan “Let’s go to war, against drugs”. In continuation of this, on April 10, 2023 AD, a raiding team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in Kayetpara Chanpara area under Rupganj police station of Narayanganj district and arrested 05 notorious drug dealers along with domestic weapons and drugs. Name of arrested persons 1. Md. Hriday Hossain (21), 2. Md. Ratan (40), 3. Md. Manjurul Alam (31), 4. Md Motaleb Hossain (50) and 5. He is said to be Md. Zahidul Islam (35). During this time, 05 different types of indigenous weapons, 50 pieces of Yaba tablets, 140 grams of ganja, 90 purias of heroin and drug sales cash – 1,56,610/- (one lakh fifty six thousand six hundred ten) were recovered from them. Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested persons are professional illegal arms terrorists and drug dealers. They have been carrying out various terrorist activities including drug trade in various areas including Rupganj of Narayanganj for quite some time under the threat of indigenous weapons. Besides, it is known that there are multiple drug cases against the arrested accused Md. Ratan and Md. Manjurul Alam in different police stations of the country. A regular case has been registered against the arrested persons in the concerned police station.
