Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation in the country. RAB has been conducting regular operations against militants, terrorists, organized criminals, armed criminals, robbers and narcotics. RAB has continued its anti-narcotics campaign to eradicate drugs with the slogan “Let’s go to war, against drugs”.
In continuation of this yesterday on August 26, 2023 AD at approximately 20:10 hours, a raiding team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in Rayerbagh Chittagong Road area under Jatrabari police station of the capital Dhaka on the basis of secret information and recovered approximately Tk. 10,20,000/- (one lakh twenty thousand) Arrested 03 drug dealers with 34 (thirty four) kg of ganja. Name of arrested drug dealers 1. Md. Iman (45), father-deceased Fazlu Shikdar, Sang-Daner Hat, Thana-Moksedpur, District-Gopalganj, present address- Gowalimandra, Thana-Lauhjong, District-Munshiganj, 2. Farida Begum (40), husband-Nazrul Islam, Sang-Kanchanpur, Thana-Savar, District-Dhaka, 3. Rupasi Begum, Swami-Md. Iman, Sang-Goalimandra, Thana-Lauhjong, District-Munshiganj are said to be. Meanwhile, 01 mobile phone and cash- 2,500/- (two thousand five hundred) taka were recovered from them.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested persons are professional drug dealers. They had been collecting ganja and other narcotics from various border areas of the country for quite some time and supplying them to various areas of the country including Jatrabari in the capital.
A drug case has been registered against the arrested persons in the concerned police station.
