Rajiv Dey Special Correspondent: The Prize Money Cricket Tournament (Season-1) organized by Giaspur Surya Tarun Sangha concluded in a festive atmosphere in Giaspur, Kapasia Upazila of Gazipur district today. The mega final held at Shaheed Gias High School ground was inaugurated by Regent Group Managing Director and prominent social worker Mr. Md. Masud Parvez. In his inaugural speech, Mr. Md. Masud Parvez thanked the organizers and said, “There is no alternative to sports to keep the young generation away from drugs and social degradation. The initiative taken by Giaspur Surya Tarun Sangha is truly commendable. I believe that this fight on the field will not only keep the body and mind healthy, but will also strengthen the bond of brotherhood among the local youth. Regent Group is always and will always be by the side of healthy entertainment and social development.” Sreepur’s Super Brother Cricket XI and Kendwar’s KSA Cricket XI fought in an exciting final. Thousands of sports enthusiasts gathered at Shaheed Gias High School grounds to watch this exciting match, which turned the entire area into a gathering. Mr. Md. Ruhul Amin, Assistant Vice President of Dhaka Bank PLC, was present as the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony. In his speech, he emphasized the need for field sports in building a healthy society. The program was presided over by Mr. Md. Nuruzzaman, Director of Samrat Paribahan and Joint Convener of Barishab Union Krishak Dal. Mr. Abul Hossain Morol, former President of Barishab Union Chhatra Dal, was present as a special guest. The entire tournament was supervised by Mr. Md. Monimul Sheikh, the tournament president and founder general secretary of the association. The program became lively under the skillful management of Mr. Alamgir Hossain Morol, an official of Bangladesh Bank.
