The project to upgrade Jhalkathi Sadar Hospital from 100 beds to 250 beds with 11 floors has been inaugurated at a cost of 60 crore taka. Amir Hossain Amu MP, coordinator and spokesperson of 14 parties, member of Awami League’s advisory council, inaugurated the project by unveiling the plaque and cutting the ribbon as the chief guest at Sadar Hospital premises on Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Amir Hossain Amu said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to deliver all kinds of health services to the remote areas of the country. After coming to power in 2008, Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has brought health care to the doorstep of the people of Bengal by completing the work of community clinic. As a result, the Prime Minister has been recognized and honored internationally.

Dr. Shamim Ahmed, Superintendent of Jhalkathi Sadar Hospital, presided over the event and Barisal was present as a special guest. Divisional Health Department Director Dr. Shyamal Krishna Mandal, Jhalkathi Zilla Parishad Chairman and District Awami League General Secretary Advocate Khan Saifullah Panir, Jhalkathi Civil Surgeon Dr. HM Zahirul Islam, Jhalkathi Public Works Department Executive Engineer Md. Faisal Alam and others. Jhalkathi Public Works Department is implementing the construction work of the new building of the 11-storey specialized hospital to be built at a cost of 60 crore taka. The new building will have various modern facilities including 20 bed isolation, 10 bed dialysis unit, 10 bed ICU. As a result, common people of Jhalkathi and surrounding districts will get better medical services.
