Local dignitaries of Gokulnagar Dakshinpara have held a press conference to protest against misleading lies about the naming of a mosque in Comilla’s Muradnagar.
The press conference was held at Gokulnagar Dakshinpara Government House in Nabipur East Union of Upazila on Sunday afternoon.
Speakers in the press conference said that fabricated, untrue, baseless and misleading lies were spread about the naming of a Kuchkri Mahal mosque through a press conference at a hotel in Comilla on October 4. The information they spread in the previous conference regarding giving land to the mosque is completely false. It is claimed that they have waqf the land for the needs of the mosque 30 years ago.
Originally the Jame Masjid of Gokulnagar Dakshinpara Dost-Mahmud Sarkar house was built about hundred years ago. Due to the needs of the age and the increase in population and the small size of the mosque built a century ago, there was a problem in accommodating the space. Later, as there was no opportunity to enlarge the mosque in its own location, the mosque was established only 20 feet away from the previous place with the help of all the locals. The old mosque is still preserved in its position. The place where the mosque is located today was named as “Dost-Mahmud Sarkar Bari Masjid” by Waqf Deed in 1977.
Along with the mosque, the name of the madrasah and the Eidgah are also named after Dost-Mahmud Sarkar by the waqf deed. We have all the documents.
Whenever we go to name the present mosque as “Dost-Mahmud Sarkar Bari Masjid” as per the deed, a circle is spreading various misleading lies against us.
At this time, the speakers asked for the cooperation of the local public representatives and the administration and said that along with exemplary punishment against the misleading liars in the name of the religious place of worship mosque, they should cooperate with us in naming the mosque according to all the documents.
