Press briefing and joy rally has been held as Rajapur Upazila of Jhalkathi is free from land and homeless. On Monday (March 20) around 11 o’clock, the rally was organized by Upazila Prashan. Upazila Parishad Chairman Principal Moniruzzaman, Upazila Executive Officer Nusrat Jahan Khan, Assistant Commissioner Bhumi Farzana Bobby Mitu, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Zia Hyder Khan Liton, Female Vice Chairman Afroza Akhtar Laiju, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mamun-or-Rashid, Animal Resources Officer Dr. Dinesh Chandra Majumdar along with brave freedom fighters and 6 union chairman of the upazila were present. A total of 591 houses were constructed in Rajapur Upazila under the Prime Minister’s Affordability Scheme in the 1st phase, 37 in the 2nd phase, 141 in the 3rd phase and 80 in the 4th phase. Out of this, 450 semi-finished single houses have been handed over to the landless and homeless people of the upazila by the upazila administration. Rajapur Upazila will be declared landless and homeless by handing over the remaining 141 semi-finished single houses of the 3rd and 4th stages to landless and homeless families on March 22. Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will auspiciously inaugurate the transfer of this house. Officials of various government departments and people from different professions participated in the rally.
