Police recovered the body of a housewife named Runa Khatun (30) from Nijbari in Rajbari pangsha. Pangsha Model Police Station recovered the body on Sunday morning. The police recovered the body from the residence of Anichur Rahman, a resident of Khamardangi village (Qatar) in Patta Union of the upazila. The deceased housewife is the wife of Anichur Rahman.
Atahar Mandal, the uncle of the deceased housewife, said that my grandson (daughter of the deceased housewife) Umme Sinha (10) told them that Umme Sinha woke up late at night and saw her one-and-a-half-year-old younger brother crying. His mother is not at home. He came to the balcony and saw the neighbor Milan Sheikh. He asked where my mother? Milan Sheikh replies, your mother has gone to our house. When she called her mother, Milan Sheikh held her face and locked her in the toilet. After some time Milon escaped by opening the toilet door. He read and saw that his mother was lying in the yard with her legs tied with a rope. He called the neighbors after not getting any word from the mother. Neighbors came and found his name lying dead. Later the police was informed.
When he went to the neighbor Milan Sheikh’s house, his wife Champa Khatun said, like every day, me and my husband slept together. I don’t know if it went anywhere after that. When asked where her husband was, she said, the police took my husband away in the morning. Milan Sheikh (25) is the son of Khalil Sheikh of the same village. Champa Khatun also said that he used to work in the house of the deceased housewife and could not work for 6 months due to physical illness. Locals said that Milan Sheikh does not do any kind of work. His wife Champa Khatun runs the family by working from house to house.
In this incident, Rajbari District Police Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (Pansha Circle) Suman Kumar Saha said that the dead body has been sent to Rajbari morgue for postmortem. If the relatives of the deceased come to the police station and file a complaint, a case will be registered subject to investigation. In this incident, a person named Milan Sheikh has been brought to the police station for questioning. It is not yet known why this murder happened.’
