He was going through preli exams for various jobs but could not pass any preli. Not one, not two, one after the other failed to clear 36 different job tests. But did not accept defeat, did not give up. To him NO means Next Opportunity. He continued his efforts and was determined that he could, must succeed. Finally Prili passed the job test number 37 for the first time. Since then, he passed almost all prelim exams. He passed the preliminary of the 38th BCS in his continuation. Gradually confidence returns. Got a place in the 38th BCS non-cadre list. But the sadness still remained because it could not become a cadre. The effort continues, 41st BCS is the last BCS. Finally get recommended in 41st BCS Forest Cadre. Yes, telling the story of Pinky Rani Majumder who got recommended in 41st BCS.
Pinki Rani Majumdar, has been recommended in the 41st BCS (Forest) cadre. His father was Dulal Chandra Majumdar, who was in exile for a long time. Mother Mamata Rani Majumder is a housewife. Pinki Rani Majumdar was born in Jaguria (Dhalirpar) village of Shakpur Union in Barura Upazila of Comilla District. Growing up from his childhood in Barura Municipal office. Graduated from Department of Plant Science, Rajshahi University.
Pinki Rani Majumdar had a rough childhood. He was inattentive in studies. The whole day was spent with mischief and sports. Due to mischievousness, he was sent to his uncle’s house to study. There was education, mischief, and a rough childhood amid the rule of the aunts.
After completing fifth grade from Galimpur Government Primary School in your upazila, get admission in sixth grade in Barura Government Girls High School. From there he passed SSC in 2006. Then Barura passed HSC in 2008 from Shaheed Smriti Government College. After that, he completed his studies in Botany Science of Rajshahi University in 2015 with third rank in first class and second rank in first class in 2016.
When Pinki’s father finally returned to the country after a long stay in exile, there was a financial crisis. Then join the university. His father was struggling to pay for his education. After completing the university studies and preparing for the job, the financial crisis took a prominent shape. Coaching, looking for job books, applying for jobs, going to Dhaka and taking the job test was very difficult for Pinky. Pinky Baba used to manage the money somehow. So he decided to get a good job. Father’s suffering must be removed. He was persistent towards the goal. Follow a series of market books for prelims along with coaching and study by taking notes regularly. I have moved ahead with specific plans for each subject. Always tried to study according to routine.
He completed his Masters in July 2016. Since he had a position in the department, he thought he would become a university teacher. That is why he applied for teaching posts in Chittagong University, Jahangirnagar University, Jagannath University and Barisal University but did not get the job. Realized that becoming a university teacher requires some more qualifications. A bit disappointed. Then he decided to become a BCS cadre leaving aside the thought of becoming a university teacher. 38th BCS and started his studies. There was no job preparation as there was an expectation of a university job. Don’t know how to start. He started preparing slowly with advice from a nearby elder brother.
First started reading job solutions. As a result get clear idea about BCS questions. While preparing, he realized many weaknesses in maths and English. To overcome the weaknesses, more than twice the time has been given in these two subjects.
After that he started preparing for the written exam. Saiful Islam took important written advice from Sufal Bhai (36th BCS-Administration Cadre) and Mustafa Sir while preparing. First solve the previous year questions. For written preparation I practiced free-hand writing in Bengali and English on any topic for 15 minutes every day. Regularly read the editorial column and international sections of the newspaper. I have read the various quotes over and over so that I don’t forget them. I practiced translation from Daily Star newspaper regularly. For maths I used to follow a book of class 9th and 10th general maths, higher maths and bazaar. As I was weak in maths, he coached me for maths. He took notes from various science books and practiced the diagrams over and over again. Used bar diagram and pie chart to remember various data. According to the topic of Bangladesh and international affairs, he arranged short notes with important points so that it is easy to revise. Practiced spoken English regularly to prepare for viva. I kept an English and Bengali newspaper in the reading list every day. I have tried to read in detail the history of liberation war of the district by various writers based on liberation war. I have studied the details of the early cadres of the choice list. Along with that I tried to know in detail about my district, current job and subjects studied in graduation and post graduation.
Pinki Rani Majumder said, “By God’s infinite grace, I have been recommended to the 41st BCS Forest Cadre. I cannot express my feelings in words.” But I am very happy that my parents are very happy with my success. My parents’ happiness is my happiness. Being able to put a smile on their face is my success.
He also said, first of all, BCS is a test of patience. Every BCS has a cadre and the rest about 2000 are not a cadre. So it would not be wise to proceed with BCS only. There should be an alternative route.
For example – I completed LLB from Comilla Law College as an alternative along with job preparation. So that I can take up advocacy even if there is no job. At the same time, we should move forward with faith in God. You have to study regularly. It is not possible to read for two days and not read for two days. Continuity of studies should be maintained.
I think at the end of the day BCS is just a job, a small part of life, it’s not the whole life. So the more humble, grateful and down to earth I am, the more peace I believe.
View social media as positive. Social media played the biggest role in his BCS journey. Online live classes, joining various groups based on BCS, reading various newspaper columns, giving online exams, sharing note papers etc. were the only reliance on social media. I used social media in moderation. So there was a blessing for me.
Since being recommended in the forest cadre, Pinki Rani Majumdar wants to contribute to the protection and development of the country’s forest resources and prevention of global warming.
