Person shot dead by miscreants in Kamrangirchar

A person named Ramzan alias Pet Kata Ramzan (43) was killed by miscreants in Muslim Bagh area of Kamrangirchar Police Station of the capital. Police said he was accused in a drug case.

Deceased Ramzan is the son of deceased Abdur Rashid. At present, he lived on rent in a house at No. 7 street in Muslim Bagh, Kamrangirchar.

This incident happened on Tuesday (October 17) in the early hours of the night. Later his body was recovered and sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College (Medford) Hospital morgue for autopsy.

When asked about this, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Kamrangirchar police station Radharaman Bhowmik said that around 3 am when I was on duty, some people informed me that a person was lying on the side of the road in a bloody state. At that time we were doing duty in the Muslim Bagh Salt Factory area. I immediately went to the spot and saw a person lying in a bloody state. I will report the matter to the higher authority immediately. Later we get to know his name Ramzan aka Petkatta Ramzan. His house is in Lalbagh but he lived here in a mess. He has bullet marks on his chest. Initially, I think he was shot dead. Later, after post-mortem report, his body was sent to Mitford Hospital for post-mortem.

Kamrangirchar police station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Mostafa Anwar confirmed the matter. He said, around three o’clock in the night we got the news and went to the spot. A man’s bullet-ridden body was recovered from there and sent to Mitford Hospital for an autopsy. His name is Ramzan aka Pet Katta Ramzan. He was accused in a drug case. However, it is not known who shot and killed him initially. The investigation is ongoing and those involved in the incident will be brought under the law, he said
