The waste of slaughterhouses in Chapainawabganj municipality is creating an extremely bad smell. After slaughtering animals, the residual waste rots and emits a terrible stench, thereby spoiling the environment. Residents, traders and patients who come to the eye hospital have suffered due to the stench.
It is known that most meat is sold in Chapainawabganj municipal area in city markets. To meet the daily demand, more than 10 to 15 cows and goats are slaughtered at the designated place by the municipality and taken to various meat selling points in the city. And there, all the processing is done to make the meat suitable for sale, including cleaning the skin and scales of the slaughtered animals. At this time, blood, faecal residues and all kinds of waste flow on the road, creating a terrible stench. In this, the patients who came to seek the services of Chapainawabganj Eye Hospital run by Bangladesh National Blind Welfare Association expressed their anger on suffering from bad smell.
On the ground, it was found that the road in front of the abattoir was emanating an unbearable stench from the blood and remains of animal slaughter.
It should be noted that on November 2 of this year, the construction of a modern and environment-friendly slaughterhouse under the livestock and dairy development project was inaugurated by the municipality in Chapainawabganj district town.
