Offices reopen today after Eid holiday

Desk news: Government and private offices, banks, insurance companies and the capital market are reopening today after a seven-day holiday on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha. Working people are returning to their respective workplaces after a long holiday.

The pressure of people heading to the capital has already increased. Employees and working people have returned to Dhaka from different parts of the country by road, rail and waterways.

Many were also seen returning to the capital on Sunday. As a result, the pressure of vehicles on various roads in the capital has also increased.

On the first working day after Eid, the normal activity in office areas is somewhat less. Many will spend time exchanging Eid greetings and good wishes with colleagues on this day.

The holy Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated in the country on May 28. The government had already declared a six-day holiday on the occasion of Eid. Later, the holiday was extended by an executive order to ensure smooth Eid travel.

As a result, a seven-day holiday is in effect for government employees. Employees of banks, insurance companies and various private organizations also enjoy the same holiday.

However, in combination with additional holidays, employees also worked on the weekly holiday on May 23 (Saturday).

Those who were outside the scope of the holiday:

According to the notification of the Ministry of Public Administration, electricity, water, gas and other fuel supply, fire service, port management, cleaning activities, telephone and internet services, postal department and vehicles and workers related to all these sectors were outside the scope of the holiday.

In addition, doctors, nurses, health workers, workers transporting medicines and medical equipment and workers of various organizations performing emergency duties were also not given the holiday benefit.
