Goland press club biennial election schedule has been announced. Upazila Executive Officer Md Zakir Hossain is the Chief Election Commissioner and Nirmal Chakraborty and Advocate Abdul Chattar are acting as Assistant Election Commissioners. Candidates collect their nomination papers amid great enthusiasm and celebration. Out of which Rashedul Haque Raihan, the current president and representative of Prothom Alo, Ganesh Chandra Pal, representative of Kaler Kanth, Sikder Muha, Asjad Hossain Aju, representative of Samakal and Baisakhi TV and Mohana TV, Abul Hossain, representative of Bhorer Pata collected the nomination papers. Shafiqul Islam Shamim, district representative of Desh TV and Janakant daily, Aktaruzzaman Mridha, daily Ittefaq representative, Shamim Sheikh, daily Yugantar representative collected nomination papers for the post of general secretary. In addition, Dainik Yugantar, district representative Helal Mahmud, Dainik Sangbad, representative Sheikh Rajeev are on the post of vice president. Uday Das collected nomination papers for the post of Joint General Secretary. Assistant Election Commissioner Nirmal Chakraborty said, “We are determined to deliver a free, fair and impartial election.” Through which a healthy democratic practice will be maintained.
