No child marriage, girls should be educated and raised with good education – LGRD Minister

Minister of Local Government Rural Development and Cooperatives. Tajul Islam MP said, girls are safe today. They can now walk the streets alone at night. In the evening we see men as well as girls standing in line waiting for the bus to reach their destination. It feels proud. Because girls are not behind now. This is possible because of institutional education. So not child marriage, girls should be educated with good education. Therefore mothers have to play more role.

Supported by Laksam AP and organized by Laksam Municipality and Bakai South Union this Friday (August 11) afternoon. The minister said this while celebrating the declaration of child marriage free to Laksam Municipality and the rest of the South Union at Bangabandhu Municipal Auditorium.

Minister Md Tajul Islam said, we have to work for the people of this country from our responsibility. This requires good education. The more educated the nation, the more developed the country. Today’s children are tomorrow’s future. So children should be allowed to grow up properly. Killer diseases like child marriage must be prevented.

The minister also said that public representatives, marriage registers and administration should be vocal to prevent child marriage. Work should be done to raise awareness about the evils of child marriage. Mentioning that drugs are paralyzing the society, he said that drugs should be stopped to protect the youth. He directed the administration to take steps to adopt zero tolerance role in child marriage and drugs.
