The nephew was killed by a group of miscreants led by his uncle due to previous family enmity over land in Bauphal of Patuakhali!
The incident took place in front of Hatem Mridha’s house in Dakshin Madhavpur village of Adabaria Union on Saturday (September 2) around 7:30 pm. The name of the deceased is Md. Alamin Mridha (35). Alamin is the son of Md. Shanu Mridha of South Madhavpur village, Ward No. 4, Adabaria Union, Alamin Upazila.
According to local sources, on the day of the incident, on Saturday (September 2) at around 7:00 p.m., Alamin was going home from Milghar market, when he reached the house of Hatem Mridhar, some youths who were coming from the east blocked the road and stabbed Alamin with a knife and seriously injured him. Hearing Alamin’s screams, the locals came forward and rescued him and took him to Patuakhali Sadar Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
According to the family of the deceased, he (Alamin) was hacked to death under the leadership of Motaleb Mridha, the uncle of Alamin and cousin Zafar of the same house, due to a dispute over land.
In this incident, 2 suspects were arrested from Baga Ferighat area of ā€‹ā€‹the upazila around 10 pm and taken to Baga police outpost. However, in charge of Baga police outpost regarding the arrest. Niru Mia has not commented.
In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bauphal police station ATM Arichul Haque said that the police have been sent to the spot after receiving the news. Efforts are on to arrest those involved in the incident.
