National Safe Road Day has been celebrated by Chapainawabganj BRTA Circle like all over the country with the slogan “Walk on the road according to the law, build a smart Bangladesh”.
On Sunday (October 22) morning, with the help of the Chapainawabganj District Commissioner, the rally and procession started from the collectorate square and ended at the same place after the circuit of the important roads of the district city. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner. During this time, the guests spoke expressing their conviction for building safe roads.
Deputy Commissioner AKM Ghaliv Khan was the chief guest in the discussion meeting under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Asif Ahmed. District Superintendent of Police Chaidul Hasan (PPM Service), Superintendent of 250 Bed District Hospital Masood Parvez, Road Department Executive Engineer Sanjida Afrin Jhinuk, Ad: Abdus Samad, Safe Road Chai District President Shafiqul Alam Bhota, District Road Transport Malik Group, were the special guests. President and General Secretary of District Truck Owners Group, Motar Sramik Union. Chapai Nawabganj (BRTA) Circle Assistant Director (Eng) Shahzaman Haque delivered the welcome speech. On this occasion, BRTA Circle Motor Vehicle Inspector Salim Hasan, Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector Abu Huzaifa and other officers and employees were present.
In Chapainawabganj district in 2022-23 financial year, 72 small and big accidents occurred on the road, in which 62 people were killed and 97 people were injured, according to BRTA circle.
