he National Mourning Day and the 48th Martyrdom Anniversary of the great architect of independence, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was celebrated with due dignity and solemnity on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Bangladesh Embassy Doha.
The program organized on the occasion of Mourning Day began with the lowering of the national flag. Bangladesh’s dignitaries in Qatar Ambassador Md. Nazrul Islam lowered the national flag to half-mast in the presence of all the officials of the embassy and the leaders of the Bangladesh community and Qatari expatriates. The Ambassador of Bangladesh later lowered the national flag to half-mast with the national anthem in the presence of all the staff and employees of the embassy in the embassy premises. Then he along with the officials of the embassy laid wreath on the portrait of Bangabandhu on behalf of the embassy. On this occasion, Bangabandhu Parishad Qatar Branch, Bangladesh Awami League, Bangladesh Chhatra League Qatar Branch – various Bangladeshi political organizations placed wreaths on Bangabandhu’s portrait.
